It was once the home of Anthony Babington, executed for his ill-fated plot to rescue Mary Queen of Scots and put her on the throne of England after assassinating Elizabeth I. The plot also resulted in Mary's execution.
The Groom family has welcomed B & B guests here for 35 years. This tiny unspoilt hamlet of just three farms and a church is the perfect place to unwind. Some say it has an ambience of a place where time has stood still.
Dethick lies within the outer boundary of the World Heritage Site at Cromford. Matlock is the gateway to the Peak District National Park and the Derbyshire Dales.
