Simon and Gilly Groom enjoy welcoming  bed and breakfast guests to their lovely historic home at Dethick , a tiny unspoilt hamlet comprising just three farms and a church. Many say it's a place where time has  stood still, yet it is only 15 minutes from the M1, and 2 miles from Matlock,  lying in the buffer zone of the Derwent Valley World Heritage site at Cromford and a short drive to the nearby towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne.

Situated at the gateway to the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park, it's the perfect place to  unwind and an ideal touring base.  Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and many places of historical interest and other popular attractions are close by. Derbyshire is one of the country's
most popular destinations for walkers and ramblers, boasting miles of walking terrain to suit every level or ability. There are wonderful walks directly from the Manor Farmhouse.

The Manor Farmhouse offers its bed and breakfast guests a wide range of

Huge stone walls, exposed beams  and timbers add to the charm and character.

Gardens & outside	Guests are welcome to use the garden with its panoramic views across the valley. We also have a ""user/family friendly" farm walk enabling visitors to look at livestock and environmental features on our farm
Dining etc	A seven minute walk through our front field will take you to the local hostelry -The Jug and Glass, which was Florence Nightingale 's first hospital. Lots of other good pubs and restaurants within a few minutes drive. French, Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants all within a 10 minutes drive. Table reservations are recommended at weekends and other busy times
Local Facilities	Wonderful walks directly from the farm - no need to take the car. Painting and other art and craft courses, riding, pony trekking, fishing, golf, sailing - all can be arranged for guests. Cycle Hire available. Post Office in Holloway just half a mile away. Also, award winning butcher selling homemade cakes, local cheeses, deli etc. and Art Gallery with exhibitions and gifts.
